On 7 November, the 2nd Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle Private Economy High-quality Development Cooperation Conference hosted by the United Front Work Department of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce in conjunction with the United Front Work Department of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce was held in Guang'an City, Sichuan Province.

With the theme of ‘Advancing into a New Era, Winning the Future with One Heart’, the conference aims to build on the major development opportunities of the western development and the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle, distinctly promote the development and expansion of the private economy and deepen the all-round co-operation in the field of the private economy.

Zhao Junmin, Standing Committee Member of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Minister of United Front Work Department, Tang Yan, Chairman of Sichuan Federation of Industry and Commerce and President of Provincial Chamber of Commerce, and Zhang Tong, Secretary of Guang'an Municipal Party Committee attended the meeting. Tang Qiang, Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Group of the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Zhang Hongbin, Executive Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Group of the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce, presided over the meeting. Dr Cheng Yifeng, Vice President of Continental Hope Group, was invited to attend the conference. In addition, more than 300 people attended the conference, including the relevant persons in charge from the United Front Work Department of the Party Committees of Sichuan and Chongqing, the United Front Work Department of the Party Committees and the Federation of Industry and Commerce of the relevant cities and prefectures, the relevant business associations, and the representatives of private entrepreneurs.

Since last year's cooperation conference, private enterprises in Sichuan and Chongqing have deepened their cooperation and synergistic development around scientific and technological innovation, new energy, environmentally friendly materials, electronic circuits, intelligent homes, agricultural and tourism integration, etc., and have promoted industrial co-development, common use of elements, and common integration of services, which have contributed to the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle in their efforts to achieve their own high-quality development.

Private enterprises are an important part of the market economy with the most vitality, potential and creativity, and the promotion of high-quality development in Sichuan and Chongqing especially requires high-quality development of the private economy. During the meeting, Dr Cheng Yifeng, Vice President of the Group, said that the Group will continue to play a good role as a leading private technology enterprise, promote the high-quality development of the industry, and contribute Hope's impetus to the high-quality development of the Chengdu-Chongqing area.

According to statistics, in the first half of this year, the economy of Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle totaled 4036.57 billion yuan, of which 2626.75 billion yuan was the Sichuan portion and 1409.82 billion yuan was the Chongqing portion, accounting for 6.5 % of the whole country and 30.7% of the western region, with a year-on-year growth of 5.8 %, higher than that of the whole country and western region by 0.8%, providing strong support for the high-quality development of Sichuan and Chongqing.

On the same day, a series of development opportunities for the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle were released, such as ‘major opportunities for accelerating the improvement of infrastructure networks and modern industrial systems’: the state explicitly supports the Chengdu-Chongqing region to build a modern industrial system with outstanding competitive advantages, relying on the comprehensive transport hub and three-dimensional open channels, and to jointly build a nationally important advanced manufacturing base and a modern service industry highland.

This event builds a platform for exchange and communication, and opens up the ‘meridian’ of high-quality development of the private economy in Sichuan and Chongqing. This year's conference has come to an end, but the communication and co-operation between enterprises continue to inject a constant flow of power into the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle. It is believed that by the third Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle private economy high-quality development co-operation conference, the high-quality development of private economy in Sichuan and Chongqing is bound to bear fruit again and continue to write a new chapter of win-win development.
