‘Jiageng is a new type of deep-sea integrated research vessel named by Xiamen University in honour of the patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Chen Jiageng. It is a 3,000-tonne global-class, unlimited-area marine science research vessel, designed to be comparable to the world's research vessels of the same class, with the most significant feature of silence, and with clean, quiet, green and other advantages. With a powerful power system, advanced navigation equipment and complete scientific research equipment, it can adapt to the complex marine environment and is equipped with a wide range of advanced instruments and equipment, which can carry out multidisciplinary comprehensive research in marine biology, geology, chemistry and other disciplines, provide key data for China's marine scientific research, and is crucial to enhancing China's international discourse on oceans and seas.

Hope Slanvert Intelligent Shore Power System is a green energy solution developed in response to the national call for the construction of ‘green harbours’ and the problem of pollution caused by fuel oil power generation of ships in port. In addition, the system also integrates new energy vehicle fast charging, weather monitoring, security monitoring, network services and other functions, and reserved photovoltaic and energy storage unit interfaces, making full use of clean energy to further reduce carbon emissions, helping to reach the goal of green port construction.
