Recap: Department of International Regional Cooperation (DIRC) in 2025
Dear Members of the Chengdu & Partners Program (C&P),
As we leaf through the 365 pages of Notebook 2025,
we find each page to be adorned with 
the footprints of us walking side by side.
Today,
with the most sincere strokes of the pen,
we’d like to unfold the annual report we wrote together,
and recount the moments we cherish and relish. 

Last year, our "big family” was full of life. Over 380 partners transcended distances to join us, including enterprises leading their own fields, business associations bridging China and the world, think-tanks and experts of profound learning, as well as colleagues from peer institutions well-known for professionalism and efficiency. From a greeting at the first meeting to a knowing smile at the launch of a cooperation project, strangeness has gradually turned into familiarity, and distance has slowly evolved into tacit understanding. This has made Opening Chengdu no longer just a slogan, but a warm and welcoming home with a sense of belonging.

Last year, our efforts to connect the world had never ceased. Prioritizing key countries of the Belt and Road Initiative, we organized 14 LET’S GO Chengdu & Partners economic and trade exchange events, including the BRI Sci-Tech Innovation Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting—Southeast Asia (Singapore) Cross-Border Cooperation Session and the Chengdu-RAKEZ Economic and Trade Exchange, serving over 2,600 enterprises in total. From the tropical charm of Thailand to the European elegance of Poland, from the heady streets of Chile to the alluring deserts of the UAE, we sincerely and accurately connected every partner with overseas resources. The in-depth discussions at negotiation tables and the celebratory high-fives after signing agreements are the most touching footnotes to our cooperation, making every expectation receive a satisfactory response.

In the previous year, we made our "voice" heard in places further afield. The story of Opening Chengdu reached a larger readership, garnering over 2 million views. "The Nth Power of Chengdu", a video endorsed and re-posted by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC did not only win prestigious awards but also amaze the world with the city's opening-up posture. At the Annual Cooperation Sharing Session held on October 30, partners gathered to share experiences and discuss future development. Warmth and friendship prevailed at the session. On December 31, the twin towers of Chengdu Tianfu International Financial Center lit up for the New Year's Eve countdown. Opening Chengdu joined the light show and celebrated the New Year with all people in Chengdu. 

In 2025, we were busy globetrotting and connecting with the world. With 2 Chengdu & Partners’ Overseas Tours and 17 visits by overseas enterprise delegations to Chengdu, we accompanied our partners on journeys afar (such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Finland, and Denmark). Each tour was not a solitary adventure but a collective endeavor. We built bridges connecting Chengdu and the world (such as Poland, Finland, and Catalonia of Spain), and each bridge embodies the resonance of visions and the rooting of cooperation. What we have built are not just bridges leading to Chengdu but paths to mutual commitment and progress. Let Chengdu's footprints be engraved on the soil of a greater number of countries; let the world’s marks be more deeply integrated into Chengdu’s development.

In 2026, we are ready for new adventures. Ready to be our company as always?

Commitment 1: Expand our "circle of friends" by adding over 120 high-quality partners. Whether you are an enthusiastic champion from an overseas chamber of commerce or a brave trailblazer from an enterprise, we are looking for you, hoping to writing more heart-warming stories together.

Commitment 2: Open more "global chapters". We will journey with partners to Hungary, the UAE, and beyond, ensuring Chengdu enterprises make their appearances worldwide. Which country would you like to resound with Chengdu's name? You have the final say.

Commitment 3: Be your more steadfast "backbone". C&P will always stand by your side. No matter how many challenges you confront going global, you can "assign tasks" to us and we will give our all to shelter you from the storms.
