From multiple dimensions and perspectives, the research report comprehensively compares and analyses China's top 500 machinery enterprises with the world's top machinery enterprises, which is an important reference value for China's machinery enterprises to comprehensively improve their comprehensive strength and accelerate the construction of the world's first-class.

2024 World Class and China Machinery Top 500 Award Ceremony

The research report points out that in 2024, the total tax payment of China's top 500 machinery enterprises on the list was RMB 419.73 billion, compared with 2023, the contribution of the top 500 enterprises to the tax revenue increased by 6.16%. 5.474 million people were employed by China's top 500 machinery enterprises in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 8.77%, which is a positive leadership and demonstration effect in ‘preserving employment’ against the background of the optimisation and adjustment of the staffing structure of most of the enterprises due to the downturn of the macro-economy.

In the 2024 Top 500 World Class Machinery Enterprises list, the first echelon includes China, the United States and Japan, with 163 Chinese enterprises (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), 102 American enterprises and 82 Japanese enterprises on the list; the second echelon includes Germany, India, South Korea, Sweden and France, with 23 shortlisted enterprises from both Germany and India, 22 from South Korea, 15 from Sweden and 10 from France. The third echelon consists of a total of 19 countries, including the Netherlands.

Speech by Mr Yu Zhongchi, President of China Machinery Enterprise Management Association (CMEMA)

President Yu Zhongchi of China Machinery Industry Enterprise Management Association pointed out that CMEMA is the earliest and the only organisation in the industry to carry out the research of China's top 500 machinery public welfare organisations, since the first time to carry out the activities in 2003 has been a continuous process of 22 years, and the research of the world's top enterprises in the machinery industry has a history of 17 years, and compared to the currently prevalent indicator of the revenue, the biggest difference is that our research and analysis is based on the enterprise competitiveness model created by the team of Professor Robert Mundell, the Nobel Prize winner in economics, which highlights the analysis and research on the comprehensive ability of enterprises, not only comparing with whose ‘fist is bigger’, but also looking at whose ‘fist is harder’, which requires enterprises to have a certain scale and volume, as well as good efficiency and effectiveness. The results of the research are more scientific, comprehensive and instructive, and the continuous research and analysis over the past 20 years have systematically and informatively recorded the development history of China's machinery industry, and have become an indispensable basis for in-depth study of the growth patterns and laws of advanced enterprises in China and abroad.
