Ms. Meaghan Shaw, Consul-General of the Consulate-General of Australia in Chengdu, and Her Delegation Visits CHG


April 22, Ms. Meaghan Shaw, Consul-General of Australia in Chengdu, Ms Katie O'Rourke, Deputy Consul-General of Australia in Chengdu, Karen Huang, Senior Research and News Officer, and James Zhan, Senior Investment Director, visited Continental Hope Group, and the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on Australia's new energy policy, CHG's industrial layout and bilateral co-operation opportunities. Dr Chen Bin, President of CHG, and Mrs Heidy Liu, Vice President of CHG, warmly received them on behalf of the Group and had a full exchange of views on the topics of new energy technology innovation, energy saving and emission reduction, recycling economy, intelligent ageing and synergistic development of Chinese and Australian enterprises in the field of culture and tourism.

During the meeting, Consul General Meaghan Shaw highlighted Australia's economic plans and investment policies in the new energy sector. She said that the Australian government has legislated a 43 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030 and a net-zero emissions target by 2050. Wind power, photovoltaic and energy storage projects provide a wide space for Chinese enterprises to cooperate. This is one of the most important economic opportunities and challenges for Australia in the next decade. Australia and China are highly complementary in the new energy sector and both countries have ambitious carbon emission targets,’ she emphasised. Both countries need to strengthen their co-operation to help them both achieve net-zero emissions together.’

Dr Chen Bin, President of Continental Hope Group, said that the Group's green circular economy industry chain based on science and technology innovation is the core advantage of the Group. He said that Australia's rich natural resources and stable policy environment are very attractive, and that we will actively explore the strategic market layout, project investment and cooperation in Australia in the future to help achieve the goal of global carbon neutrality.

Mr Allen Wang, General Manager of Continental Hope Investment & Development Corp., Ltd. made a brief introduction of the basic situation and development plan of the Group. With high technology as the core and comprehensive utilisation of resources as the link, Continental Hope Group has formed a close and three-dimensional upstream and downstream industrial chain by focusing on ‘energy saving and environmental protection, recycling economy, quality of life, urban symphony, intelligent science and technology, and international business’ in its industrial layout.

Dr Dong Jinping, General Manager of the New Energy Division of Continental Hope Group, gave a detailed introduction of the Group's situation in the fields of photovoltaic, energy storage, comprehensive utilisation of hydrogen energy and intelligent power grid. With Hope New Energy as its platform, the New Energy Division of Continental Hope Group gives full play to its advantages in science and technology research and development, talents, technology, resources and industrial chain, etc. Through comprehensive planning and integration of resources, it has laid out new productivity modes in the field of new energy, such as wind-solar power generation, storage, charging and discharging, virtual power plant, carbon trading and hydrogen energy utilisation. At the same time, the company will drive development by innovation, focus on wind power generation, advanced lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen energy technology and related products, build an integrated service system for the whole ecological chain, form large-scale comprehensive new energy technology solutions, promote green energy transformation, and contribute to China's power for the sustainable development of green energy.

During the meeting, the Australian Consulate in Chengdu and CHG agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism to jointly explore specific cooperation paths. On this occasion, the two sides initially explored co-operation opportunities in the fields of energy conservation and emission reduction, circular economy, new energy, retirement and cultural tourism.

China and Australia have a long history of exchanges, and the friendship between the two peoples is everlasting. The exchanges and co-operation between the two countries in different fields have been constantly speeding up and upgrading, and mutual benefit and win-win situation has further become the main theme of bilateral relations. The visit of Ms Meaghan Shaw, Consul-General of Australia in Chengdu, to CHG signifies that under the background of China-Australia friendship and cooperation, the Group will continue to promote scientific and technological innovation, strengthen international economic and technological exchanges and co-operation, and infuse momentum of Hope into the sustainable development of the global industrial economy.
