AGV robots shuttle continuously, ensuring seamless and efficient transfer of materials from warehouses to workstations; real-time data pulses across large screens, offering instant visibility of production progress and quality metrics... In late September, when reporters visited Hope Senlan Science and Technology Holding Corp., Ltd. (Hope Slanvert) in Shuangliu District, Chengdu, General Manager He Jianbo was guiding an international client delegation on a tour of the company's smart factory.

"Clients from around the globe, when visiting our company, always make a point to inspect the production line," He Jianbo told reporters. He added that clients' priorities have shifted beyond just price and delivery timelines to encompass smart manufacturing capabilities. "After migrating to the cloud, leveraging our highly automated production lines and a management system that integrates data flows throughout the entire product lifecycle, we've more than doubled our production capacity. Driven by surging orders, we anticipate another record-breaking year for revenue."

Currently, Chengdu is developing into a national advanced manufacturing base, advancing its pilot role in the national initiative for new-type technological transformation of manufacturing cities, and elevating the manufacturing sector toward higher-end, more intelligent, and greener development. "Cloud Migration" is not merely a "mandatory step" for enterprises to overcome growth bottlenecks but also a pivotal engine for achieving full-chain collaboration across the industry.

From "Traditional Manufacturing" to "Intelligent Manufacturing"

Solving Equipment Interconnection and Funding Challenges; Overseas Delegations Visit Weekly

Established in Chengdu in 1998, Hope Slanvert is a national-level high-tech enterprise specializing in the R&D, production, sales, and service of drive control systems, intelligent equipment, industrial automation solutions, and digital products. Confronted with the global wave of intelligent manufacturing, the company embarked on its digital transformation journey three years ago.

Challenges emerged immediately. "Cloud Migration" requires enterprises to shift business data from on-premises servers to cloud platforms for centralized management. However, factories house equipment of diverse brands and ages, with incompatible industrial control protocols. Many older production machines lack data interfaces or have proprietary, closed interfaces—a common predicament for manufacturers during digital transformation that demands substantial resources to address.

Recalling this phase, He Jianbo noted that to tackle equipment interconnection issues, Hope Slanvert combined independent R&D with technical collaborations to develop industrial gateways and data collection solutions compatible with multiple protocols, gradually enabling comprehensive production data collection and interconnection. To manage the pressure of over 100 million yuan in investment, the company adopted a "phased implementation" strategy: prioritizing high-return-on-investment (ROI) initiatives and using tangible benefits to fund subsequent upgrades.

"The government fully recognizes the significance of 'Cloud Migration' for intelligent manufacturing and has created a fertile, continuously improving environment for enterprises," He emphasized. "Financial subsidies and policy guidance have effectively reduced the costs and risks of digital transformation, demonstrating the government's commitment to driving industrial upgrading." It is reported that Chengdu offers financial subsidies to enterprises undertaking cloud migration, with a maximum amount of 1 million yuan, to accelerate their digital, intelligent, and green transformation.

"After completing full-scale automated upgrades, our production capacity has more than tripled. The adoption of AGVs, intelligent algorithms, and other technologies has boosted cross-workshop material transfer efficiency by 45%," He Jianbo stated. More importantly, cloud migration has enabled the company to build a data-driven, end-to-end digital management ecosystem, integrating customer relationship management (CRM), product lifecycle management (PLM), quality management, and intelligent after-sales systems. This ecosystem has enhanced efficiency, improved quality, reduced costs, and enabled agile responses to market demands.

In August last year, the company launched its 30,000-square-meter intelligent manufacturing digital factory, significantly strengthening its market competitiveness. In the first half of this year, Hope Slanvert achieved double-digit year-on-year growth in output value. Foreign trade orders have surged, with overseas enterprise delegations visiting nearly every week.

"Chain" Synergy Across Upstream and Downstream

Enterprise "Point-Specific Breakthroughs" Drive Supply Chain Upgrading

After enterprises migrate to the cloud, how can this momentum be extended to the entire industrial chain?

Having completed cloud migration and established the "Chengdu Smart Factory," Hope Slanvert has not paused its exploration. The company's self-developed digital factory operation and management platform—capable of covering core scenarios such as order fulfillment, production control, and quality tracing—is now empowering its upstream partner, Sichuan Special Transformer Factory (SCTB), to build a smart transformer factory. "We aim to promote in-depth system integration and data sharing with upstream and downstream partners, enhancing the entire supply chain's responsiveness and risk resilience," He Jianbo said.

A single enterprise's "point-specific breakthroughs" are evolving into "standardized capabilities" across the industrial chain, driving the supply chain toward greater efficiency, precision, and collaboration. This pattern is equally evident in other industrial sectors.

In Dayi County, the Phase II "Intelligent Transportation Equipment Manufacturing Project" of Sichuan Yuanxing Rubber Co., Ltd. was fully commissioned in June this year. As a core initiative for the company's shift from traditional production to "intelligent manufacturing," it has delivered remarkable results: labor costs reduced by 30%-50%, energy consumption cut by 15%-25%, and output increased by 20%.

The greater value lies in reshaping the industrial chain. "In the future, processes such as order placement, logistics tracking, and quality collaboration will all take place on a unified supply chain collaboration cloud platform," said Cui Youming, head of Yuanxing Rubber's smart factory. This acts as a digital "entry ticket" for partners—those seeking to integrate into the supply chain must upgrade their digital capabilities in tandem. The experience and technical standards Yuanxing Rubber has accumulated during its intelligent transformation can also be replicated by partners, creating a "chain reaction."

Intelligent upgrading and digital transformation have become key drivers of high-quality manufacturing development in Chengdu. In recent years, focusing on the strategic priority of "intelligent and digital transformation", Chengdu has innovatively built a three-dimensional transformation system featuring "enterprise point-specific breakthroughs, chain-wide industrial upgrading, and ecological circle reconstruction." Currently, Chengdu hosts 5 national-level advanced manufacturing clusters, ranking second among Chinese cities, and has climbed to 8th place in the comprehensive ranking of China's Top 100 Advanced Manufacturing Cities.

This year, Chengdu aims to drive intelligent and digital transformation upgrades for 2,000 large-scale industrial enterprises, build 70 smart factories and digital workshops, and raise the penetration rate of digital R&D and design tools to 93% and the numerical control rate of key processes to 68%—continuing to propel the manufacturing sector toward higher-end, more intelligent, and greener development.
