Recently, the Southwest Base of Chengdu Hope New Energy Technology Corp., Ltd., located in Xinjin Economic Development Zone, has officially entered the critical sprint phase of construction. This marks the addition of another "new engine" for new energy production in Southwest China.

As a new energy R&D and manufacturing base under Continental Hope Group, the Southwest Base of Chengdu Hope New Energy covers a diverse business scope, including energy storage technology services, battery manufacturing, microgrids, energy digitalization and other fields. It focuses on integrated solutions spanning R&D, manufacturing, sales, installation, commissioning, operation & maintenance, and investment of advanced lithium-ion battery technologies (including semi-solid-state and solid-state batteries), hydrogen energy technologies, wind and solar power generation technologies and related products.

According to Dong Jinping, General Manager of the New Energy Business Division of Continental Hope Group, the construction and operation of the base will give full play to the Group's strengths in scientific and technological R&D, intelligent equipment manufacturing, and property operation. It will integrate abundant industrial resources in the upstream and downstream of the new energy industry to develop the Southwest Base of Chengdu Hope New Energy Technology Corp., Ltd., which will cover an Innovation R&D Center, an Exhibition Center, an Energy Storage Manufacturing Base, and a New Energy Operation Center. Meanwhile, the base will form industrial synergy and complementarity with Xinjin-based enterprises like Xinjin CATL, GREE ALTAIRNANO NEW ENERGY INC., and Zhongxin General, collectively driving the expansion of the new energy industry.

Southwest China's First New-type Energy Storage Dynamic Expansion Project

Notably, the base is also home to Southwest China’s first dynamic expansion project for new-type energy storage. This project features the "Shangshu 261" energy storage cabinet independently developed by Chengdu Hope New Energy. Four such cabinets are connected in parallel to form a 500kW/1044kWh energy storage system with high safety and energy efficiency. The system charges during off-peak (low electricity price) hours and automatically discharges when the production system load exceeds the set threshold. With a millisecond-level response, it can supplement load demands within 500kW, addressing the power capacity shortage in the production system while effectively cutting production-related electricity costs.

The base has also independently developed specialized products, including residential/industrial & commercial energy storage systems, digital manufacturing systems, and charging piles. Among these, its charging pile portfolio covers the full spectrum, from 7KW AC slow charging to 960KW DC fast charging, alongside 1.28MW stack group charging and 600KW liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging solutions.

Currently, the main decoration of the base is substantially completed, and it has entered the final sprint stage, focusing on production line commissioning, on-site greening, and interior optimization. Inside the production workshop, the installation of office and supporting functional facilities is progressing in an orderly manner, with staff rest areas, material transfer channels, and other facilities all put in place as planned. Simultaneously, pre-job training for employees and recruitment drives are underway to lay a solid foundation for the base’s production launch in the fourth quarter.

"The completion and operation of the base will not only significantly boost Chengdu Hope New Energy’s core product manufacturing capacity and provide more robust support for customer needs but also inject new momentum into the development of the new energy industry in Southwest China," stated Dong Jinping. He further added, "We chose to establish the base in Xinjin due to its favorable business environment, comprehensive industrial supporting facilities, and high service efficiency. From project registration to construction permit approval, dedicated personnel are assigned to provide guidance and coordination."

　　Dong Jinping also emphasized that upon the base’s production launch, Chengdu Hope New Energy aims to become a "partner" in Xinjin’s industrial upgrading. Beyond optimizing its own production operations, the company aspires to collaborate with Xinjin to advance the improvement of the new energy industrial chain and contribute to Xinjin’s economic growth.
