Scientific and Technological Innovation Drives High-Quality Development丨Lanzhou Taibang and Southwest Petroleum University Jointly Establish a Collaborative Innovation Base


On April 1, Lanzhou Taibang Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Lanzhou Taibang"), a subsidiary under the Energy and Chemical Division of Continental Hope Group, established a Collaborative Innovation Base with Southwest Petroleum University in Lanzhou. The base was approved by the Leading Group for the Construction of Academician and Expert Workstations of Gansu Province.

Wang Zhe, a First-Class Clerk of the Development and Liaison Department of Gansu Association for Science and Technology, read out the Approval on the Establishment of the Collaborative Innovation Base of Lanzhou Taibang Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. issued by the Leading Group for the Construction of Academician and Expert Workstations of Gansu Province. Qin Bo, Director of the Development and Liaison Department of Gansu Association for Science and Technology, and Zou Changjun, Professor and PhD Supervisor of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Southwest Petroleum University, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Lanzhou Taibang Collaborative Innovation Base.

In his address at the ceremony, Wang Yiqiang, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau of Lanzhou New Area and Executive Vice Chairman of the Association for Science and Technology of Lanzhou New Area, stated that the establishment of the Lanzhou Taibang Collaborative Innovation Base is a fruitful achievement made possible by the strong support of Gansu Association for Science and Technology and the Association for Science and Technology of Lanzhou New Area, as well as a crystallization of the in-depth cooperation between Southwest Petroleum University and Lanzhou Taibang. It is not only a recognition of Lanzhou Taibang Chemical's technological innovation capabilities by the Leading Group for the Construction of Academician and Expert Workstations of Gansu Province, but also a powerful impetus for the integrated development of industry, academia and research. More importantly, it symbolizes a solid step taken by Lanzhou New Area in deepening industry-academia-research collaboration and advancing the high-quality development of industries, injecting new vitality into the in-depth integration of regional scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation.

Pu Guanzhou, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Southwest Petroleum University, delivered a speech, stating that as a renowned university in the industry, Southwest Petroleum University boasts robust scientific research strength and prominent talent advantages, having formed distinctive disciplinary features and remarkable research strengths, with solid support in terms of research platforms, professional talents and core technologies. The joint construction of the Collaborative Innovation Base with Lanzhou Taibang is a vivid practice of the university's commitment to applying academic research to serve national development needs, and also a pragmatic move for university-enterprise cooperation to complement each other's strengths, share resources, tackle key technical problems collaboratively and pursue win-win development. This cooperation will effectively drive the in-depth integration of the industrial chain, innovation chain, capital chain and talent chain. Going forward, the university will strive to build the base into a core platform for technological breakthroughs, a demonstration carrier for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and a practical base for talent training, so as to make greater contributions to the green transformation and high-quality development of the chemical industry in Gansu Province and even the western region of China.

As one of the core bases of the Energy and Chemical Division of Continental Hope Group, Lanzhou Taibang holds nearly 30 national invention patents and utility model proprietary technologies related to the production and manufacturing of sodium chlorate, potassium perchlorate, hydrogen peroxide and other products. At present, Lanzhou Taibang has built the only integrated production line in China that simultaneously covers "sodium chlorate – potassium perchlorate – hydrogen peroxide", achieving zero wastewater discharge in the joint production of sodium chlorate and potassium perchlorate. It has thus developed a model of green intelligent manufacturing for a green chemical circular economy industrial park that integrates energy, chemical engineering, new materials, green energy chemical engineering and the comprehensive utilization of hydrogen energy..

Furthermore, leveraging the resource advantages of the Energy and Chemical Division of Continental Hope Group as the chairman unit of the Chlorate Branch of China Inorganic Salt Industry Association, Lanzhou Taibang has constructed a comprehensive system for high-quality scientific and technological development, characterized by the technological upgrading, green transformation and intelligent upgrading of its production facilities. By promoting the sharing of best practices and the implementation of energy-saving renovation projects, the company's production bases have realized synergistic effects in advanced intelligent manufacturing. In addition, Lanzhou Taibang is pooling the strengths of the entire industry to foster an integrated development model of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation, converting scientific and technological achievements into a powerful driving force for the development of the chemical industry.
