Breaking News! Sichuan's Major Clean Energy S&T Special Project Launched at Hope New Energy
On June 2, the Sichuan Provincial Major Science and Technology Special Project for Clean Energy: "R&D and Application of High-Voltage Solid-State Circuit Breakers for Energy Storage Systems", was officially launched at the New Energy Division of Continental Hope Group (hereinafter referred to as Hope New Energy).

Approved and funded by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, this project is spearheaded by Hope New Energy and jointly developed via the industry-university-research collaboration model with partnering entities including the National New Energy Storage Innovation Center, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Xihua University, Mincheng Electronics, and Chuankai Electric.
01 Target Strategic Goals to Lead Industrial Development

Ding Zhaoyang, Director of the Industry Division of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, attended the project launch ceremony and delivered an address. He noted that the initiative constitutes a core research assignment under Sichuan’s Major Science and Technology Special Project for Clean Energy. The successful implementation of the project holds significant strategic importance for enhancing the self-reliance and control over energy storage equipment in Sichuan Province and for promoting the high-quality development of the clean energy industry. Meanwhile, he also encouraged the project team to stay firmly focused on set targets, intensify innovation efforts, strengthen collaboration, pursue independent innovation, and strive for excellence, contributing their wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of new quality productive forces in Sichuan.
02 Focus on Core Technologies to Tackle Four Key Challenges

Dr. Dong Jinping, General Manager of Hope New Energy and project lead, elaborated on the overall project implementation plan and specified management and assessment requirements. He stated that as a core breakthrough mission of Sichuan’s Major Science and Technology Special Project for Clean Energy, the project is tasked with breaking bottlenecks in core technologies for high-voltage protection of energy storage systems, and developing a lineup of high-voltage solid-state circuit breakers with proprietary intellectual property rights.
At present, the project team, R&D directions, and implementation plan have all been fully established. The project will concentrate its efforts on four major directions: topology design of high-voltage solid-state circuit breakers, development of high-withstand-voltage power devices, development of fast protection control algorithms, and engineering application validation. The goal is to achieve internationally advanced levels in core indicators such as breaking capacity and response speed. Upon completion, the project outcomes will be extensively promoted and applied in scenarios including new-type energy storage, smart grids, computing power centers, and charging stations.
03 Advance Industry-University-Research-Application Integration to Serve the "Dual Carbon" Strategy
The launch of this project marks a critical step for Sichuan Province in realizing independent innovation of core energy storage equipment. The project team has pledged to uphold the scientific spirit of "rigorousness, truth-seeking, collaboration, and innovation," to deepen industry-university-research-application cooperation, and to ensure the successful completion of all research tasks and assessment indicators on schedule. In doing so, the team will make positive contributions to Sichuan Province's efforts to build itself into a national demonstration province for clean energy and to serve the national "Dual Carbon" strategy.
